The Story Behind the Dress

What went through your mind your dress arrived at your doorstep and you tried it on for the first time?

I was very excited and loved that my dress fit like a glove! I didn't have to make any alterations to it!

"He came to Ohio on Christmas Eve (where my family lives) and proposed with a light up 'Marry Me' sign. He knew Christmas is my favorite and that family is really important to me so it was so special."

"We got to spend a few hours together before the ceremony and had a bottle of champagne. It was like getting ready for a night out with your best friend and we had so much fun. It took all the nerves out of the day."

"True to every review I'd read, the dress slipped on with ease and it fit perfect. I was comfortable and felt so beautiful. I honestly didn't want to take it off."

So tell us, how did you meet the love of your life?

It was a very random sporadic Bumble success story. First and only swipe for both of us!

"We didn't hire a stylist we did everything ourselves - taking 3 days dying table runners and napkins, filling friends' cars to the brim with pumpkins, and collecting brass candle sticks over 3 years!"

"My favorite moment was when I walked down the aisle and realized Jacob kept his mustache that he said he was going to shave for the wedding! I had been begging him to keep it because he looks so handsome with it, but he kept assuring me he wanted to be 'clean cut' for the wedding. So, it was the sweetest surprise when he said 'I kept it for you.'"

"Exactly a week after our first date he planned a tubing excursion in Harpers Ferry, WV. He packed a variety of IPAs (my personal favorite), snacks, and 3 different types of sandwiches because he wasn't sure what I liked. We ended up eating at a local restaurant at the end of the day, but his adorable thoughtfulness wasn't lost on me."

"The day itself was challenging. We woke up and started hiking at 2:30 am with our photographer and hair/makeup artist. Even though we've spent time long distance backpacking (on the east coast), this particular hike was a huge challenge (THE ALTITUDE)!! The hardest hike we’ve ever done. It was worth every second though for the amazing and breathtaking views."

What has been the best part so far about being married?

"Growing a stronger love day by day, I feel like we are both truly blessed to have found the one we wanted to be with forever at 14, he is my best friend always has been and always will be!"

"We chose the wedding date solely based on the availability of our favorite photographer, and after telling my mom about the date we’d chosen, she asked me if I knew the significance of it. She then told me it was my late grandparents' anniversary, and it would have been their 80th wedding anniversary on our wedding day. I had no idea, but it made the date even more special and meaningful. It really was all meant to be."
