So tell us, how did you meet the love of your life?

Lance and I met online through the dating app "Coffee Meets Bagel".

When did you know they were the one?

There really isn't one particular moment; rather, a series thoughtful dates and experiences early on in our relationship that did it for me. Our second date in particular spoke volumes about his character and commitment to our relationship. Exactly a week after our first date he planned a tubing excursion in Harpers Ferry, WV. He packed a variety of IPAs (my personal favorite), snacks, and 3 different types of sandwiches because he wasn't sure what I liked. We ended up eating at a local restaurant at the end of the day, but his adorable thoughtfulness wasn't lost on me.

Tell us the story of the proposal!

I planned a week in Bar Harbor, ME at the end of October 2020 for us to explore the town, leaf peep, and hike in Acadia National Park. I'll admit I had an ulterior motive; we designed my engagement ring together and received it weeks prior. He carried it in his jacket or backpack all week and was waiting "the right moment", which ended up being near the top of Cadillac Mountain.

How long was your engagement? What went into deciding your wedding's date and location?

We had a relatively short engagement. Prior to our actual engagement we had already decided to elope in Fall 2021 and were just in the beginning stages of planning our day with our elopement photographer. I knew I wanted to elope in a National Park and when I came across Glacier on Pinterest I was sold.

How would you describe your personal style?  What was most important to you when you were planning your bridal look?

I love simple, understated style and wanted to incorporate fall tones into my look. Natural, earthy, and boho vibes was ultimately what I was going for with my bridal look.

How did you find Wear Your Love?

I found Wear Your Love in an online search for sustainably made dresses.

When did you know you had found your perfect dress?

I guess I could say that my search started and ended with WYL. I was obsessed with the style but was so torn about ordering a dress that I wasn't able to try on first. I tried on a bunch of dresses at BHLDN and second hand dress stores but wasn't in love with any of them. I narrowed my list down to 3: the Ari, Ellora, and Indigo, and it was the Indigo that checked all of the boxes for me.

Which dress did you choose, and did you request any custom aspects?

I chose the Indigo dress and requested 3/4 length sleeves due to personal preference.

What went through your mind when the Wear Your Love box arrived at your doorstep and you tried on your dress for the first time?

I legitimately stalked the USPS and sat outside on my steps to speak with my mail lady. The combination of COVID-induced mail delay and potential package theft had me on extra high alert. When my dress arrived I tried it on immediately and was overwhelmed by how perfect it was.

Did your wedding have a theme or style?

My wedding was a hiking elopement, so I guess you could say that it was an outdoorsy theme.

How involved was your partner in the wedding planning? Did your families help? Did you hire a coordinator, planner, or event stylist?

My partner was involved in all aspects of the wedding planning. Our adventure elopement photographer, Sam Starns was instrumental in helping us plan for our day.

Let's show your wedding venue some love! What is the name of your venue, and why did you choose it for your special day?

We were married in Glacier National Park, MT. Although neither of us had been to Montana, Glacier was a bucket list park that we wanted to visit in the next few years.

What was your favorite moment of the day?

Our entire trip was the adventure of a lifetime, but if I had to choose I would say our vow exchange.

We shared our vows at sunset in front of the historic backcountry chalet, Granite Park Chalet where we spent the evening. The setting was quiet and intimate and the view was breathtaking.

Who was involved in your special day? We would love to shout out your photographer, favorite vendors, and anyone else who made your day magical.

Our photographer Sam Starns (@samstarns), hair and makeup artist Sheilynne Midili (@pacific_brides), florist (@mumsweddings), and jeweler Ken & Dana Design (@kenanddanadesign) deserve all of the love and recognition for making our day so perfect.

Do you have any advice or helpful tips for others planning a wedding?

I would say to be true to yourselves as a couple and to not be afraid of other peoples opinions about how you celebrate your love.

What has been the best part so far about being married?

The best part about being married is knowing that we'll be together for the rest of our lives and be able to share in unique experiences such as our elopement.
