The Story Behind the Dress

"The second I saw the Ari dress I fell in love with it. It felt like exactly what I wanted - simple, beautiful, and romantic. After obsessive researching of the brand, finding other Ari brides with similar body types to me online, and sleeping on it for a few days, I decided to just go for it and risk it and I'm so glad I did!"

"The most meaningful thing to me during the ceremony was just watching Devon give his vows and tell everyone in the room how much he loves me. He’s a pretty private guy, and not always the best with words, so that was very special to me. The vows felt really easy for me, and I felt like it was just us two in the room."

"It was on a Friday and we had planned to go on a short hike with 2 friends. He gave me a note recalling all the things we'd done together starting with 'Remember when...'. The last one read 'Remember when I asked you to be my wife?'"

"We had an intimate ceremony in Montecito on Butterfly Beach just the two 2 of us, a friend who officiated us, and our photographer. And just like our proposal, it was very windy and a cloud was blocking the sun during our exchange of vows. This actually helped us get the perfect photos! Once we said 'I do', the clouds broke and golden hour hit. It felt very serendipitous."

What was your favorite moment of the day?

"The first look. I had been calm all day, but just so eager to see Matt. He is my home, and I felt like once I saw him I knew nothing else would matter. The moment he turned around and looked at me, the whole world stopped spinning. It felt like it was just him and I."

"After being together for over 6 years, it feels like we are in a bit of a honeymoon phase again. It feels so good to be married to my best friend."

"We chose to do our personal vows separately. We walked to the river next to our house and only had our parents and photographer there. This was absolutely incredible and was such a special moment we will continue each year."

"He rented a treehouse for my birthday, and since we always take trips for my birthday, I never thought anything of it. Popped the question just us two in a secluded and snowy treehouse in Wisconsin."
