So tell us, how did you meet the love of your life?

We were in the same place at the same time SO. MANY. TIMES. before we actually met. As we replayed it through it was almost unbelievable how many times our paths should have crossed before they finally did. Low and behold, we met at work after years of being at the same plays, concerts, fav bars, and living around the corner from one another.

When did you know they were the one?

Pretty early on  it was just easy. Things that previously had been big deals to other relationships were easy to move through together. He asked me to move across the country with him (from Maine to Chicago) after only being being together for about 7 months, and when I said yes, I knew I was his forever.

Tell us the story of the proposal!

The proposal was sweet and intimate. At home in front of the fireplace, followed by lots of card games, champagne and a fancy dinner out.

How long was your engagement? What went into deciding your wedding's date and location?

Our engagement was supposed to be about a year and a half, BUT due to Covid we didn't have our wedding celebration for just over two and a half years after our engagement. We still did get legally married on our original date, but waited another year for the full celebration. The location was pure magic. I grew up as a summer camp kid, and for anyone who was a summer camp kid you know the magical, inclusive, be 100% authentically yourself feeling it allows for. That was our dream for a location  where could we bring all of the most important people of our lives together that allowed everyone to feel comfortable to be themselves? This was at Sugarland Barn in Wisconsin  a secluded area that was fully ours for the weekend.

How would you describe your personal style?  What was most important to you when you were planning your bridal look?

I always new I wanted a WYL dress, no questions asked. But, like any girl  I also wanted a "dress try-on" experience, so I grabbed my mum and my bff and went to a few places in Chicago before ordering my WYL online. Every place I stepped foot in asked me the same question, "So Morgan, how do you want to feel in your wedding dress?" to which I responded each time with "I want to be able to play cornhole and other lawn games comfortably." The reactions were priceless. I could see them thinking about their stiff, unforgiving dresses and that there was NO WAY I'd be purchasing a dress that allowed me to be comfortable all day. Were they wrong, or were they wrong? :)

How did you find Wear Your Love?

I honestly don't even remember at this point  I had saved the website a couple years before I was even engaged because I just KNEW I had to have one when the day came.

When did you know you had found your perfect dress?

Although my dress try-on experience didn't persuade me to buy a dress from anywhere other than WYL, it did solidify my initial thought that I wanted a long sleeve lace top dress. I didn't know I had found the perfect dress until I reached out to WYL and asked for a special combination of the chest of one dress, but the bodice and skirt of another. As soon as they said YES! I knew it was the dress I had always hoped for.

Which dress did you choose, and did you request any custom aspects?

Yes! I chose Zoey 2.0 dress, but with the chest of the Indy dress and a full back (hello large chest).

What went through your mind when the Wear Your Love box arrived at your doorstep and you tried on your dress for the first time?

I was SO excited to get it inside and try it on. I was shaking as I received it, nervous I somehow got the measurements wrong, or that it wouldn't be perfect. As soon as I got it on, happy tears came streaming down my face. It could not have been more perfect  from the look of it to the PERFECT fit  it was the dress of my dreams.

Did your wedding have a theme or style?

No theme  no real style. Naturally I am pulled toward boho chic, and since I created about 99% of the decorations myself, it definitely fell into that category.

How involved was your partner in the wedding planning? Did your families help? Did you hire a coordinator, planner, or event stylist?

I planned the whole wedding myself (twice because of covid). Chris would give input on anything he didn't like, but otherwise was pretty laid back. He was also happy to help take on tasks that I gave him, but he's not the most creative guy in the bunch, so that was mostly me.

What was your favorite moment of the day?

How can I even pick?! It was truly magic  to the point that when the weekend was over, I felt homesick for all of my friends and family. I think a couple of the major highlights of the day were being alone with Chris *and our AMAZING photographer* by the stream before the ceremony, and the special remembrance we did for my late father.

Who was involved in your special day? We would love to shout out your photographer, favorite vendors, and anyone else who made your day magical.

Tell us about your wedding playlist! What song did you walk down the aisle to? Did you have a first dance song that was meaningful to you?

Music is SO important to Chris and I, so we spent way too long curating the pre, during and post-ceremony music. I walked down the aisle to "Wild Flowers" by Tom Petty and the rest of the wedding party and parents walked down to "I Like to Be With Me When I'm With You" by Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors. Our first dance song is a special one to the two of us  "Me & Magdalena" by The Monkees.

Do you have any advice or helpful tips for others planning a wedding?

Make it you and have fun. Even if something seems "out of the norm" for a wedding  if it means something to you and your partner, do it anyway! Don't feel constrained to the "typical" wedding do's and don'ts.

What has been the best part so far about being married?

Honestly not a lot changed from the day-to-day of being engaged vs. being married  but we sure do love reminiscing about our wedding weekend and that it was the most magical experience EVER.

Congratulations, Morgan & Chris! Morgan is wearing The Zoey 2.0 with ivory lining, a 16 in court train, and a custom Indy-style soft v-neckline with a fully lined bodice.
