So tell us, how did you meet the love of your life?

We met through mutual friends at a Halloween party in 2020!

When did you know they were the one?

Right away! He stole my heart and was the closest thing to love at first sight I've ever known! We spent the whole night talking and had so many people asking us how long we had been dating because it seemed like we had known each other for years!

Tell us the story of the proposal!

He took me on a wine-and-cruise through the Sonoran Desert. After, we went to the lake we had our first date at and he proposed at sunset!

How long was your engagement? What went into deciding your wedding's date and location?

We were engaged for about 10 months! I'm from NC and he is from AZ. I'm in medical school and we needed to choose a date that fell over one of my breaks between quarters! January 1st happened to fit great and had a lot of religious significance to us. We are both Catholic and this date is the Solemnity of Mary Mother of God. We knew by choosing a date that was so closely tied to Jesus, He would bless our wedding day with much peace!

How would you describe your personal style?  What was most important to you when you were planning your bridal look?

I would describe my style of simple, elegant, warm, and rustic! We wanted to keep the wedding as simple as possible to direct the focus back on Jesus and our sacramental union!

How did you find Wear Your Love?

Through Instagram!

When did you know you had found your perfect dress?

I couldn't stop looking at it and could clearly imagine spending the day in it! I had previously purchased a dress a few months prior. The closer our wedding got, the more I felt uneasy in it! It was a beautiful mermaid style, but SO stiff and structured. There was iron ribbing from my knee to my shoulder. I couldn't sit or move well at all. I came across Fleur and it took my breath away! It was so similar to my original dress, but looked even more elegant. I knew I would be comfortable in it all day long and was so happy to not have to have so many alterations!

Which dress did you choose, and did you request any custom aspects?

Fleur! I had the neck line dropped to below my collar bone and the back taken lower. I added a lace strap to the back and extended the train to the longest option possible!

What went through your mind when the Wear Your Love box arrived at your doorstep and you tried on your dress for the first time?

I was SO excited!! I didn't want to take it off! I felt absolutely beautiful and it was so comfortable!

Did your wedding have a theme or style?

Rustic holiday!

How involved was your partner in the wedding planning? Did your families help? Did you hire a coordinator, planner, or event stylist?

He was so involved! We had a coordinator and they were amazing. Matthew was so invested and wanted to be at every meeting and even look at all my Pinterest boards! He was just as excited as I was and I was so grateful to have his help and support!

Let's show your wedding venue some love! What is the name of your venue, and why did you choose it for your special day?

Tercero at Aldea Weddings! It was exactly what we were hoping for. The photographer, videographer, baker, caterer, and DJ were all included in the price. With Matthew working full-time and me in medical school, having them take care of all of those details made SUCH a difference!

Tell us about your wedding playlist! What song did you walk down the aisle to? Did you have a first dance song that was meaningful to you?

Early 2000s dance party! I walked down to Canon in D Major and our first dance song was Never Stop (wedding version) by Safety Suit. We both had dreamed of dancing to that song on our wedding day for years before knowing the other! It was meant to be!

What was your favorite moment of the day?

The moment after our vows! Seeing him get so emotional yet also overflowing with joy! We just kept whispering "You're my spouse!!" throughout the rest of the mass!

Do you have any advice or helpful tips for others planning a wedding?

Focus on the true purpose -- the marriage! Let all of the stress of planning/running a smooth wedding day go! Laugh at the hiccups (we got a flat tire on our way to our reception!!) and they will become true moments of bliss and memories too!

What has been the best part so far about being married?

Living life with my best friend. Being able to share everything with my best friend by my side! Not having to say goodbye. Being able to see the little ways he shows love in a new way. Getting to show him little ways I love him in new ways! Being more united with Jesus and having our goal focused on getting the other to Heaven. Too many to list!!
