Congratulations to Nikita & Brandon on their magical mountain wedding! Photographed by @theryleeandco.

So tell us, how did you meet the love of your life?

We met through mutual friends out celebrating his med school graduation

When did you know they were the one?

Pretty early on, we started out long distance and he was so sweet and attentive. Also made me feel like he was thinking of me.

Tell us the story of the proposal!

He rented a treehouse for my birthday, and since we always take trips for my birthday, I never thought anything of it. Popped the question just us two in a secluded and snowy treehouse in Wisconsin.

How long was your engagement? What went into deciding your wedding's date and location?

9 months, pretty quick. We wanted it to be in the mountains since we both grew up near mountains. It was also really important for me to do it soon and near my grandparents so they could come (they are in their 90s).

How would you describe your personal style?  What was most important to you when you were planning your bridal look?

I wanted simple and functional for our morning hike, but still elegant for the evening dinner/ceremony.

How did you find Wear Your Love?

Instagram

When did you know you had found your perfect dress?

One of the first things I picked was my dress, I never even went to try other dresses on before picking it.

Which dress did you choose, and did you request any custom aspects?

I chose the Ari and customized the length of the arms to come down to my wrists.

What went through your mind when the Wear Your Love box arrived at your doorstep and you tried on your dress for the first time?

How nice the material was haha! I was really nervous about ordering sight unseen, but it truly was even better than I could have imagined.

Did your wedding have a theme or style?

It was a boho fall theme

How involved was your partner in the wedding planning? Did your families help? Did you hire a coordinator, planner, or event stylist?

I did most of it, and my photographer was also partially a planner so she helped a lot!

Let's show your wedding venue some love! What is the name of your venue, and why did you choose it for your special day?

Hotel bellwether in Bellingham, chose it because it was close to north cascade national park where we did our hike

Tell us about your wedding playlist! What song did you walk down the aisle to? Did you have a first dance song that was meaningful to you?

My step mom played 1000 years on the violin as I walked down the aisle. Our first dance song was Joy of my Life by Chris Stapleton. Brandon had played it for me a while back and I could never understand why he kept calling me the Joan of his Arc, silly me. I had been singing it wrong all along.

What was your favorite moment of the day?

Our first look and personal vows at the top of the mountain which ended up being completely covered in snow.

Do you have any advice or helpful tips for others planning a wedding?

Start well in advance, you think you have plenty of time but even for a small wedding (we only had 20 people) you need lots of time.

What has been the best part so far about being married?

Soaking in all the love, and knowing that we get to do this forever!

Lastly, who was involved in your special day? We would love to shout out your photographer, favorite vendors, and anyone else who made your day magical.

Rylee was my photographer @theryleeandco my florist Alison @alandbloom Make up artist @readysetglow
