So tell us, how did you meet the love of your life?

We are high school sweethearts. We met when he moved to our school freshman year and quickly became best friends. We started dating the summer before senior year.

When did you know they were the one?

He has always had a way of being the calm to my storm. We both love to adventure and fit each other like puzzle pieces (I save / he likes to splurge, I’m a morning person / he’s a night person, I’m a mess / he likes to stay tidy etc). We have always grown together and not apart and we aren’t afraid of the changes we make for ourselves.

Tell us the story of the proposal!

We had actually decided to get married when my grandmother fell ill. We had decided a date and planned a decent amount. My grandmother passed away right before August and neither one of us had brought up the wedding. I ended up not being able to hang out with friends one night so I tagged along to see our mutual friends for dinner. Collin had chosen to propose that night to me. We were with close friends, without pressure, and it made me realize that he also wanted and felt the urge to move our relationship forward. It was beautiful and we kept our original date.

How long was your engagement? What went into deciding your wedding's date and location?

We got engaged August 16th and got married the same year November 21st. We had both always wanted to get married in the fall and we kept our original date to marry after my grandmother passed away.

How would you describe your personal style?  What was most important to you when you were planning your bridal look?

We are both very “hippie”, “granola”, outdoor people. I have had your website saved for years and didn’t even try on any wedding dresses until mine got delivered!

How did you find Wear Your Love?

I found one of your dresses on Pinterest YEARS ago. I have always known I would wear one of yours for my wedding day.

When did you know you had found your perfect dress?

I didn’t try on any dresses until mine got delivered. The back, long sleeves, lace detail. Everything. It was everything I had always dreamed of.

Which dress did you choose, and did you request any custom aspects?

I chose the Nevaeh. I had full sleeves, but that was the only slight change!

What went through your mind when the Wear Your Love box arrived at your doorstep and you tried on your dress for the first time?

I was terrified that I didn’t do my measurements correctly. Then I put it on and was SO HAPPY! The dress was “heavy” which was perfect for our outdoor fall wedding, it was so comfortable, and it fit like a glove.

Did your wedding have a theme or style?

Boho I suppose? It was all done on our property.

How involved was your partner in the wedding planning? Did your families help? Did you hire a coordinator, planner, or event stylist?

We planned a good bit together. Our families helped a ton! I chose all of our colors, timing etc. We did not have a planner or coordinator.

Let's show your wedding venue some love! What is the name of your venue, and why did you choose it for your special day?

Our home 💜

Tell us about your wedding playlist! What song did you walk down the aisle to? Did you have a first dance song that was meaningful to you?

We are pretty huge nerds. I didn’t tell Collin what song I was walking down to to keep it a surprise. I walked down to “Across the Stars” from Star Wars. Our first dance was to “In the Morning Light” by Billy Strings. We had a different song picked out originally but once he came out with this song we both just knew. We love Billy anyway and listen to him often but this song spoke to us.

What was your favorite moment of the day?

We chose to do our personal vows separately. We walked to the river next to our house and only had our parents and photographer there. This was absolutely incredible and was such a special moment we will continue each year.

Who was involved in your special day? We would love to shout out your photographer, favorite vendors, and anyone else who made your day magical.

@mckrhynephoto was our photographer @boozeandbouquets was our florist @frugalgourmetcatering Was our caterer @alexisrusseljewelry made my rings

Do you have any advice or helpful tips for others planning a wedding?

Collin, my photographer and I ate a plate of food after our pictures before heading into the tent for our dances. Without that we wouldn’t have had any time to eat!

What has been the best part so far about being married?

We dated for 9 years before getting married and it has put us in a state of being “excited” again!

Congratulations, Maddie & Collin! Maddie is wearing The Nevaeh with nude lining and a floor length skirt.
