Tell us how you met the love of your life?
I met Sophie in undergrad at Smith College.
When did you know that this person had stolen your heart?
It was an extremely warm February day while studying at the Montague book mill (an old mill turned bookstore/cafe that runs along the Saw Mill River in Montague, MA). A long walk along a winding riverside road, over conversations about life, careers, and love that I knew she was the one.
Tell us about the proposal.
Four years later, Sophie proposed at the Montague Book Mill, with a custom jewelry box and a handwritten note that said "when you give a girl a jewelry box..."
How did you find Wear Your Love?
I first stumbled upon an image of the "Jade Dress" on Pinterest while looking for inspiration and followed the links to the Wear Your Love webpage.
When did you know you had found your perfect dress?
I had been describing the Zoey Scoop Back to friends and family for months but hadn't found it in bridal shops. I had succumbed to the idea that I was going to have to have it custom made when I found the Zoey. Everything about the Wear Your Love vision resonated with me and I knew the Zoey was the perfect dress the moment I saw it.
What went through your mind when the Wear Your Love box arrived at your doorstep, and you pulled out your dress for the first time?
I was SO excited to try on my dress for the first time and hoped I had followed the instructions on how to do my measurements correctly! I remember pulling it out of the box and feeling the weight of the dress and the softness of the organic cotton was just dreamy.
What was your wedding theme or style?
Our wedding style was "Ethereal." We had a subtle road trip/National Park theme, inspired by a post-college road trip where we spent three months National Park hopping from Maine to California and back.
Tell us about your venue...
Wedding Venue: Five Bridge Inn (Rehoboth, MA) We wanted an outdoor wedding with a tented outdoor reception. All of our guests would be traveling from out of state and we wanted to make sure the ceremony and the reception were at the same location and Five Bridge Inn delivered everything we could have ever imagine and more, providing beautiful spaces to get ready, rooms for us and our bridal parties. Being owned and operated by a woman was also sealed the deal, as we were determined to hire as many local, female vendors as possible.
What was on your wedding soundtrack playlist, aisle, reception, and first dance?
Aisle: The Bones- Maren Morris and Fast Car - Tracey Chapman
Reception: An eclectic mix of Brandi Carlile, Maren Morris, The Highwomen, Josh Ritter, Tom Petty, Robyn, Beyonce and the Indigo Girls
First Dance: Kiss Me - Ed Sheeran
What was your favorite wedding day moment?
My favorite moment from the wedding was probably the moment at the end of the ceremony when our recessional song started and we spontaneously grabbed hands and ran back down the aisle as wives surrounded by our entire family, laughing the whole way.
