How did you meet the love of your life?

A family friend started building his home across the street from mine. My dad and I would walk over occasionally to see the progress being made on it. One evening we walked over and his workers were helping fix up the inside— I was not looking my best in my leggings, dirty farm boots, mud-covered carhartt jacket, and double braids. I spotted the one guy I had been secretly crushing on for probably a years time (I also attended school with his younger brother). I decided that night to send him a DM on Instagram with the single word “Snapchat?” Anxiously I deleted every social media app that night. The next morning in my college biology class I decided to redownload them and read my rejection reply (If he had even replied at all) which he did and we snapchatted for a while and I asked him (eagerly) if he was going to ask me for my number or not— after texting a while I also eagerly asked if he was going to take me on a date or not. Our first date was cancelled due to him going to dinner with his parents instead (great feeling... right?). Finally I made him drive around Ocean City for probably an hour until we decided to play mini golf.

When did you know that this person had stolen your heart?

I had a lot of stress on me at the time. I was a high school senior, going to college full time instead, while trying to navigate my way to finding a career for me. With all of that stress, he knew the exact words to say to calm me down, he never once doubted me or tried changing my mind about anything even if I doubted myself, he was the biggest supporter I could imagine having. It was when he never once put his feelings before mine, with all of the choices I was having to face. He always put me first, he cared for me through all of my medical needs, and his heart is full of patience and passion

Tell us the story of the proposal.

We decided to get married the night of my birthday. He had a 104 fever so I thought he was delusional— which he kind of was. He didn’t “propose” until four months later after our anniversary dinner. I thought he would do it at the restaurant (wrong), or maybe when we got home (also wrong), I was laying in bed angry— like c’mon man what is your hold up. He asked if I wanted the ring and at that point I didn’t believe he had it with him, after minutes of him trying to get me to turn around I finally did— and there it was!

How did you find Wear Your Love?

I hate shopping in general. I remember seeing a blog post with this company and memorized the name for when I needed a dress. I had no idea how the process worked but it was way easier than dress shopping in person.

When did you know you had found your perfect dress?

I’m not a girly girl. I wanted something elegant and vintage looking to go with my old soul personality. It took a lot of scrolling to find my perfect one but seeing the Rory 2.0 dress blew my mind!

What went through your mind when the Wear Your Love box arrived at your doorstep, and you pulled out your dress for the first time?

I ran upstairs and tried it on so fast I don’t even remember opening the box. I instantly knew my decision was the right one after I put it on.

What is the name of the dress, and did you request any custom aspects?

Rory 2.0

What was your wedding theme or style?

My wedding was on my family farm, with my horses, goats, sheep, pig, dogs, and cats. I knew from when I was a kid I wanted my animals at my wedding and everyone loved my roaming goat, Betty. She stayed around the reception area the entire evening and loved getting all the attention from our friends and family.

Let's show your wedding venue some love! What is the name of the wedding venue you chose and why did you choose it for your special day?

Stella’s Venture.

What was on your wedding soundtrack playlist, aisle, reception, and first dance?

I walked down the aisle to a piano cover of “Here Comes the Sun” by The Beatles. Our first dance was to “Beautiful Crazy” by Luke Combs

What was your favorite moment of the day?

I loved that my goat crashed our first dance. She walked right on the dance floor and shared some leaves I pulled out of my flower crown.

Who was involved in your special day? We'd love to shout out to all your favorite vendors! Add all social media information, so each person gets the credit they deserve.

Do you have any advice or words of wisdom for anyone planning a wedding?

Do it in pieces. Don’t try planning it all at one time. And if you’re getting your own decorations— thrift, thrift, thrift!!!
