Wyatt & Brenna

How did you meet the love of your life?

We actually met in 8th grade when I moved to Oregon. We knew each other but weren't really friends. We had different friend groups, but over the high school years, we slowly started sitting next to each other in classes just because we both laughed so much around each other.

When did you know that this person had stolen your heart?

Summer before my Senior year of high school, I went over to his house to watch a movie, but we ended up climbing onto his roof to watch the stars. He was NOT the type of person to do that, so it really stood out to me. We held hands and talked, and it was so easy. That's when I knew he'd be with me for the rest of my life.

Tell us about the proposal?

The ring was burning a hole in his pocket! His family picked me up from work so we could go to dinner with his Grandma and Grandpa. Afterward, we went ice skating and stopped to take a picture. I was about to skate away because he had done the same to me earlier (rude) but when I pretended to push him over after his brother took out his phone, his brother said "I wouldn't push him over," and I looked down at him on one knee! I couldn't believe it. I was so shocked!

Explain to us how you found Wear Your Love?

Instagram! I do photography in my free time, so I decided to make an Instagram account just focusing on photos, and I followed a ton of wedding and couple photographers. The dresses that were in a ton of photos that I adored were tagged Wear Your Love! I wasn't even engaged, but I knew I had found my dress without even trying it on.

When did you know you had found your perfect dress?

I saw a few photos on Instagram by a couple different photographers and so I clicked on the tag. I scrolled down on the website and when I saw the girl sitting near the window sill, I knew it was the one. The lace sleeves were calling my name.

What went through your mind when the Wear Your Love box arrived at your doorstep, and you pulled out your dress for the first time?
  1. It got to my house way faster than I had expected! How do you make a wedding dress so fast!?
  2. The box was so small. Like a shoe box. Even my parents were like, "um, your dress can't be in there." But it was! And it was PERFECT.

What was your wedding theme or style?

Boho, neutrals, and woodsy. The reception was in the woods with the tables in the trees. Our colors were grey, eucalyptus, and cream. Such a dream.

Let's show your wedding venue some love! What is the name of the wedding venue you chose and why did you choose them for your special day?

Our wedding venue was Bridge Over Clear Creek in Estacada, Oregon. It was the most magical place I'd ever seen. I choose it because of the trees! And there was a creek running right behind the ceremony and it was so beautiful. The owners felt like family the first time I met them, and they helped us with the venue set up, during, and take down as if we were family! I'm astounded by their kindness.

What was on your wedding soundtrack playlist, aisle, reception, and first dance?

When I walked down the aisle, we played Bloom by The Paper Kites. Our recessional song was Sing To You by John Splithoff (best song ever.) The first dance was Best Part (feat. H.E.R.) by Daniel Caesar (when I heard that song for the first time ever, I knew it would be my first dance song immediately.) And our starting reception song was September by Earth, Wind, and Fire!

Tell us your favorite moment from your wedding?

My little siblings and cousins all choreographed a dance to surprise all of us during the reception! It was such an amazing dance, and I was so impressed!

Do you have any advice or words of wisdom for anyone planning a wedding?

Make sure you are surrounded by people who love you and want to make the day about you! I wasn't stressed at all during the whole planning process, mostly because I have an amazing mom, and amazing mom-in-law, and a very laid back husband! We knew no matter what, we would be married at the end of the day. Everything else was just a bonus! Seriously, keep your eyes on the goal: being with your person for the rest of forever!

How would you rate your overall experience with Wear Your Love?
