So tell us, how did you meet the love of your life?

We had been acquaintances for about a year. I got super close with one of his high school best friend so we planned a trip to go visit her in Phoenix, Arizona with a group of friends. She was going to school a GCU. Slowly one by one people started dropping out and the trip before we left, Boomer and I saw each other the night before we left and said “I guess we’re still going right?” Low and behold our friend was in full swing of pre-med which left her little free time on top of classes and studying non stop. Boomer and I had all this free time together. We got to know each other on a deeper level and as soon as we got back from the trip he asked me out.

When did you know they were the one?

I actually had a lot of fears about not picking the right “one.” I even postponed my first wedding for many reasons but a big one is that I wasn’t sure. It’s not romantic but I think I learned that sometimes you just have to choose. Some people have that one moments where it hits them and they know they’re with their soulmate. I think I would’ve given up the best thing that’s ever happened to me if I had waited around for that moment to know. After we postponed our first wedding we went to intense counseling and I knew we could make it through anything.

Tell us the story of the proposal!

It was actually one of the most elaborate engagements I’ve personally ever seen. We actually have a YouTube video on it. https://youtu.be/ACdZia1sNZo He surprised me with a full day of my favorite things without me knowing he was behind it. I went out for a girls day with my best friend and a “stranger” paid for our lunch, I walked into my favorite store and got “randomly” selected for a gift card, some stranger walked up to me and gave me my favorite dessert. I walked into my favorite coffee shop and all my artwork was hanging on the walls and the baristas randomly had my favorite snack behind the counter. Once we got our coffees one of my best friends walked in with flowers and handed me her phone. Boomer was on FaceTime and told me to meet him at red rocks amphitheater because he had a question to ask me. When I arrived he had a path of rose petals leading up to a lookout point. One of our incredibly talented musician friends was playing our song live as he got down on one knee. It was magical! He got about 15 of our friends involved and it was the most special day. He was also supposed to be out of town which is why he got away with me not knowing that he was behind any of the cool stuff that happened throughout the day!

How long was your engagement? What went into deciding your wedding's date and location?

We were engaged for over a year. We actually postponed our first wedding date which would have been a year of engagement on the dot. However getting married was super overwhelming and I wanted to be sure that I made the right choice so we postponed our wedding for 6 months. We got married at his family cabin in Jefferson, Colorado!

How would you describe your personal style? What was most important to you when you were planning your bridal look?

I love simple neutrals. Nature tones and definitely love the boho vibes!

How did you find Wear Your Love?

When did you know you had found your perfect dress?

So I had actually bought a wedding dress from BHLDN. After we postponed our first wedding date I think I got really honest with myself. I tried the dress I had bought on a couple months before the wedding and knew I wasn’t gonna feel confident on our wedding day. I was randomly searching through wedding dress boutiques on Instagram trying to find something that I would love. I think I had scrolled through six or seven tabs on the wear your love website. I don’t get moments like this often but as soon as I saw the Trinity dress I knew I had to walk down the aisle in it! It was the easiest and best process to order my dress. I was blown away at how quickly you guys were able to pull it together. I recommend all my friends that are getting married to your boutique!

Which dress did you choose, and did you request any custom aspects?

Trinity dress.

What went through your mind when the Wear Your Love box arrived at your doorstep and you tried on your dress for the first time?

I was actually kind of scared because it seemed so inexpensive and you guys were able to make the dress so fast. I was just praying to God that it wasn’t a scam. The dress arrived one week before my wedding. As soon as I opened it I did a try on with my closest friends. It was everything I dreamed it would be and fit like a glove!

Did your wedding have a theme or style?

Mmm I wouldn’t say so

How involved was your partner in the wedding planning? Did your families help? Did you hire a coordinator, planner, or event stylist?

Boomer and I planned and paid for it ourselves. Boomer was honestly way more in the details than most guys were. He would plan meetings with our friends to make sure we were on track. We did have one of our close friends do the day of coordinating!

Let's show your wedding venue some love! What is the name of your venue, and why did you choose it for your special day?

My husband‘s family cabin. Haven on the Hill.

Tell us about your wedding playlist! What song did you walk down the aisle to? Did you have a first dance song that was meaningful to you?

I walked down the aisle to Sleeping at Last's Saturn. It was magical with the mountains in the background.

What was your favorite moment of the day?

Honestly just getting to say our vows with all our closest friends and family with the most breathtaking views. Also the dancing, it felt like a packed house party the whole night.

Who was involved in your special day? We would love to shout out your photographer, favorite vendors, and anyone else who made your day magical.

@graciemariephotos @snginteriors - day of coordinator

Do you have any advice or helpful tips for others planning a wedding?

As long as you have the big ticket items booked like a photographer, videographer and venue… We really only needed three months to plan the other details.

What has been the best part so far about being married?

My favorite part of marriage is having my best friend by my side. It’s crazy that there’s a million different directions of growth you can take. When you step into marriage, you’ve both made a promise to grow to be more of who your person needs.
