So tell us, how did you meet the love of your life?

Online. But had dozens of mutual friends and somehow never had met before connecting online.

When did you know they were the one?

Early. He basically moved in after 4 weeks of dating lol

Tell us the story of the proposal!

He picked me up after work one evening and surprised me with flowers, and when I asked what they were for he said because I love you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. He got down on one knee and opened the ring box. I was in utter shock as I had no idea it was coming.

How long was your engagement? What went into deciding your wedding's date and location?

1.5 years

We knew we wanted to elope on a great adventure. Scotland is well know in history for elopements and its grand diverse landscape was so hard to resist. Time of year was because May happens to be one of the least rainy months in Scotland (however out of the 15 days we were there we had 14 sunny and the only rainy one happened to be on our wedding day) we got very wet! Lol

How would you describe your personal style? What was most important to you when you were planning your bridal look?

Casual. My only request for a wedding dress was I needed a dress that had sleeves and no train. We were going to be hiking in the highlands and I wanted to make sure the dress could stand up to that type of adventure. And of course be a beautiful high quality dress.

How did you find Wear Your Love?

Instagram. Like all things lol. Planned our whole wedding from finding our photographer, videographer, accommodations, dress, etc all through Instagram

When did you know you had found your perfect dress?

The moment I came across wear your love's Instagram! I saw my dress in a post and knew I needed it!

Which dress did you choose, and did you request any custom aspects?

Zoey 2.0 is what it was called. I did not request any custom aspects.

What went through your mind when the Wear Your Love box arrived at your doorstep and you tried on your dress for the first time?

I was in total shock that the dress fit so perfectly!! Right down to my wrist everything fit so custom. I didn’t need even an inch altered. I was so happy and so relieved to have finally found the perfect one.

Did your wedding have a theme or style?

Intimate elopement

How involved was your partner in the wedding planning? Did your families help? Did you hire a coordinator, planner, or event stylist?

I planned most things but everything was decided together as a couple. And then our videographer and photographers helped narrow down the location and find a good officiant.

Let's show your wedding venue some love! What is the name of your venue, and why did you choose it for your special day?

Haha in the hills of Glencoe.

But we had our wedding dinner and spent the days leading up to and after at Glencoe House and it was an absolutely amazing place to stay and spend our wedding/honeymoon.

Tell us about your wedding playlist! What song did you walk down the aisle to? Did you have a first dance song that was meaningful to you?

No music or grand entrance just walked out together into a field and gave our vows.

What was your favorite moment of the day?

Every single second of the day was incredible. I can’t pick a favourite moment because from the moment we woke up until we went to sleep was like a fairy tail.

One particular moment that was very memorable was a young couple was traveling by on their honeymoon (they had been married just a few days before) and they spotted us up a hill in our wedding attire getting pictures in the rain. The newlywed groom raced up the hill with two glasses and a new bottle of scotch to pour us a drink and cheers to our day! It was pretty cool to have complete strangers show us love like that! That’s the Scottish people for you - FUN, relaxed and incredibly nice!

Who was involved in your special day? We would love to shout out your photographer, favorite vendors, and anyone else who made your day magical.

Andrew Rae @andrewraephotographer
Simon and Gregg @cinematefilms
Claire Digance @clairethehumanist
Glencoe House Hotel @glencoehouse

Do you have any advice or helpful tips for others planning a wedding?

Do exactly what makes you both happy and don't worry about what others want. Years down the road you will remember how happy you were and how you felt - not anyone else. Close your eyes and imagine exactly what your perfect day looks like and do that!

What has been the best part so far about being married?

Building our beautiful life together and having our son!!
