Miranda Wearing The Fleur Dress
So tell us, how did you meet the love of your life?
Nick and I met through mutual friends. One fateful night at a local karaoke bar, he offered to buy me a beer. We had instant chemistry and laughed the night away. That was all that it took for us to spend nearly every day together since then.
When did you know they were the one?
Nick really taught me a deep love and appreciation for the outdoors, I went on my first camping/climbing trip with him and had the time of my life. One evening after a great day of hiking and climbing, we were by the fire, he was cooking up dinner, and I just knew this was my person.
Tell us the story of the proposal!
The proposal was perfect, and sounds very similar to the story of when I knew he was the one! We were headed up to a lake to camp for the weekend. We set up camp, started a fire, and cracked open some beers. Nick got down on one knee and asked me to marry him and I cried while nodding and saying “YES!” Then we headed out to the lake to watch the sun set, the perfect ending to the perfect evening.
How long was your engagement? What went into deciding your wedding's date and location?
We were engaged for a little over a year. Our wedding date really depended on what dates our venue had available, so we settled on 9-10-21. We knew pretty instantly that we wanted to get married at Horning’s Hideout, it holds a special place in our hearts.
How would you describe your personal style? What was most important to you when you were planning your bridal look?
I would say my personal style is casual, but I do love to glam it up for special occasions! I knew that I really wanted a simple but flattering dress and big beautiful florals!
How did you find Wear Your Love?
I found Wear Your Love through a friend! She wore a WYL Dress and I was so in love with it so I was pretty set on getting one myself!
When did you know you had found your perfect dress?
It was definitely easy for me, I tend to know what I want! I was scrolling through the site and was stopped dead in my tracks by the Fleur! It was simple and stunning.
Which dress did you choose, and did you request any custom aspects
The Fleur. I kept it simple with no train.
What went through your mind when the Wear Your Love box arrived at your doorstep and you tried on your dress for the first time?
When I saw that my dress had been delivered I was so excited! Luckily Nick was still at work so I immediately took it out of the box and slipped it on. I was instantly in love, it was so beautiful, comfortable, the low back is just the right amount of sexy, and the lace details on the end of the sleeves captured my heart! I had a hard time taking it off, I pretty much just wanted to live in it until my wedding! 😂
Did your wedding have a theme or style?
Our wedding was very casual, no theme or style, just a magical gathering in the woods.
How involved was your partner in the wedding planning? Did your families help? Did you hire a coordinator, planner, or event stylist?
Nick handled aspects of the planning and I handled others. Each of our families helped, whether it was unloading the decor from the cars, doing my makeup, or helping set up the venue, our family was so helpful on the big day and everyday leading up to it. My friend Hayley was my day of coordinator and my overall superstar, she made sure everything ran smoothly and on time!
Let's show your wedding venue some love! What is the name of your venue, and why did you choose it for your special day?
Horning’s Hideout, we attend a music festival there and the whole property is so magical and special to us. It’s covered with tall trees, ferns, green grass and peacocks 🦚 (the owner of the property lets them roam free!)
Tell us about your wedding playlist! What song did you walk down the aisle to? Did you have a first dance song that was meaningful to you?
I walked down the aisle to my friend Conner Bennett acoustically covering “Harvest Moon” by Neil Young. Our first dance was “All Your’n” by Tyler Childers, we dance in our kitchen to that one so it seemed fitting. Beyond that we played a ton of funk music and anything that would get you on the dance floor!
What was your favorite moment of the day?
Nick and I read our vows to each other privately, during our first look. It was so special to have a moment that was quiet and just us pouring out our hearts. It was definitely my favorite moment.

What has been the best part so far about being married?
I know I have found my guy, I feel so happy and can’t wait for more adventures and years filled with laughter and joy!
