So tell us, how did you meet the love of your life?

We’re high school sweethearts! I had a crush on him and I told my friends about it, and then one of them passed that news along to him and here we are ;)

Was there a moment you knew they were the one? Tell us how they won your heart.

There wasn’t a single exact moment, but rather lots of moments that built up. We’ve always been there for each other with family issues, deaths and other hard moments we’ve had to work through. He’s my number one and very best friend. We love joking around with each other and going on spontaneous trips.

Tell us the story of the proposal ❤️

I’m a wedding photographer so I asked if he wanted to come along with me to scout out a location for one of my elopements and he agreed. I already knew that he had asked my dad for permission and told his little brother (they’re super close) so I suspected that he might. We stopped at a little park on our way and I for sure thought he would propose but then he didn’t. We finally made it to the location I wanted to scout out and after walking around for a while I gave up on the idea of him proposing. We’d also wanted to take pictures of the two of us so on the way back I set up my camera and tripod. A few pictures in and I completely forgot about him proposing, so when he did it was a complete surprise! We got the moment halfways captured and it’s still one of my favourite imperfectly perfect pictures today.

What was most important to you when choosing your wedding dress

Something I felt comfortable and sexy in but was still wild.

What aspects of your wedding were most important to you when you were planning?

For the getting ready portion of the day. I knew it would be the quietest moments with so much anticipation.

Did your wedding have a theme or a specific style?

Definitely boho

What advice do you wish you could go back and give to yourself when you were in the early stages of planning?

I didn’t want to have a long program with welcome to the family speeches/life history speeches because my husband's brother had recently lost his girlfriend and my family doesn’t really get along. My mother in law pressured me into having a welcome to the family speech and a life history and I really regret it. She made it about her family and it felt like I was excluded from my own wedding.
