Ethan & Molly

How did you meet the love of your life?

Long story short, I wanted no parts of Ethan for a while. I had just gotten out of a long relationship and was incredibly hurt. I started going to a local church in early 2016, recommitted my life to Jesus and began piecing my life back together. Ethan attended my church but was in South Africa doing an internship through the church. My friend Julia (a mutual friend of Ethan's), posted a photo of us on Facebook and Ethan saw it all the way in South Africa. He facetimed his mom asking who I was and that I was his future wife.

When did you know that this person had stolen your heart?

He asked me on a date a couple of months later when he returned home. I turned him down. lolz. I wasn't ready. We did our own thing for about a year. We served at our church around each other and were cordial. In June of 2017, we passed each other driving on the road and started talking. A month or so later he asked me where I wanted to go on my "last first date ever" (no lack of confidence there). But for some strange reason, when he said it, I kind of knew he was right. He is the greatest person I've ever known and my greatest blessing and gift.

Tell us about the proposal?

We got in engaged in June of 2018! It was absolutely perfect. My best friend Julia is an amazing photographer and she and her husband photographed and filmed all of it. We went to a local park and were doing a typical couples session. Julia asked us to embrace and share "what your favorite thing about one another is." I went first and was so caught off guard that I all I could come up with was "uhhh. you put up with me and make me better." Ethan, who normally is not a sappy person, started this whole heartfelt speech and all I could say was "wow, your explanation is a lot better than mine!" haha. And then he asked. Sweet boy.

Explain to us how you found Wear Your Love?

I'm a wedding photographer and actually shot a wedding where the bride had the Zoey dress. I remember as soon as I saw her in it, that was my dress. I wasn't even engaged at the time haha. But I just knew that was the one I would want.

When did you know you had found your perfect dress?

When I saw the bride from that wedding wearing it! I actually found your brand on Instagram.

What went through your mind when the Wear Your Love box arrived at your doorstep, and you pulled out your dress for the first time?

"I really hope Julia and I measured correctly and that this thing fits!" haha no joke. My matron of honor did my measurements and the whole not trying my wedding dress on before buying it thing seemed a little scary but it was perfect.

What was your wedding theme or style?

Definitely laid back and bohemian. I wanted more than anything, for the whole day to be very chill, laid back, full of love, and for Christ to be at the center. It was all of those things and more.

Let's show your wedding venue some love! What is the name of the wedding venue you chose and why did you choose them for your special day?

Our venue was Furnace Town located in Snow Hill, Maryland. It's actually super unique and has a lot of history to it with a huge iron Furnace that was used a long time ago. I knew I wanted a "woodsy" venue and Ethan has dreamed of getting married there for a long time. It fit both of our visions.

What was on your wedding soundtrack playlist, aisle, reception, and first dance?

I am a sappy person through and through so most of our songs reflected that. My walk down the aisle song was "She is Love" by Parachute and our first dance song was "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" by Sleeping at Last.

Tell us your favorite moment from your wedding?

Ethan and I, as well as our guests, worshipping together to the song "Reckless Love" that some of our sweet friends played and sang.

Do you have any advice or words of wisdom for anyone planning a wedding?

Remember that above everything else, it's about the marriage and covenant you're making. It's easy to get caught up in the details, the weather, the flowers, etc (like myself). Remember that what makes your day the most beautiful is the covenant you're making. Your marriage is the cake, all the rest is just the icing.

How would you rate your overall experience with Wear Your Love?

5 out of 5 stars.

May the years ahead be filled with lasting joy for you two.
