So tell us, how did you meet the love of your life?

We met in high school and were best friends for almost 17 years! One night we went out for a drink just to catch up and hang out and we both got the “spark” feeling and never looked back! When did you know they were the one?

That first night we felt something romantic. I knew we were going in deep and forever as soon as we went from friends to partnersTell us the story of the proposal!

We kind of had a multiple part proposal... after 3 months of dating Patrick asked me completely out of the blue “Do you like diamonds? Just curious.” That’s not the proposal... but I just thought... dang! It’s gonna happen! In March of 2020 in Maryland we were quarantined in our home and we just laid and talked about our future and we just kind of said “let’s get married.” Neither of us were just speculating! We started making plans the next day... so there still wasn’t “a proposal.” A few weeks later we adopted the tiniest chihuahua puppy and one night when I got home from work he had tied the engagement ring to our pup’s collar and was waiting upstairs in our home with a camera and candles and proposed in our living room. It was sweet, sincere, and perfect.

How long was your engagement? What went into deciding your wedding's date and location?

We had a short engagement! We decided to get married in March and got married in August. We knew we wanted to elope in Montana and already had a road trip in our camper van planned. Things just work out like that!

How would you describe your personal style? What was most important to you when you were planning your bridal look?

I would say my look is eclectic. I feel the most comfortable in overalls, hiking boots, and a t shirt. BUT I love accessories and handmade items. I think most people would say I am “bohemian.” I knew I wanted something comfortable, flattering on a bustier woman, and something I could layer with turquoise and feathers without being too busy.

How did you find Wear Your Love?

I found Wear Your Love on Instagram!

When did you know you had found your perfect dress?

I didn’t even bother looking at other dresses. I honed in on the Nevaeh and never went back. I’m pretty decisive like that!

Which dress did you choose, and did you request any custom aspects?

I chose the Nevaeh and I requested a full back so I could wear a normal bra and a little lower in the front since I am busty! I also knew with the custom measurements that the dress and train would be plenty long for my tall frame!

What went through your mind when the Wear Your Love box arrived at your doorstep and you tried on your dress for the first time?

I literally started sweating. I was so excited. As soon as I put the dress on I was like “I have never owned a garment that has fit me this well”.
Did your wedding have a theme or style?

I think our wedding reflected my Montana roots and our outdoorsy lifestyle. There were sentimental elements.

How involved was your partner in the wedding planning? Did your families help? Did you hire a coordinator, planner, or event stylist?

Patrick was super involved. We were stuck in quarantine together... it was actually super fun. We did not hire a planner or a stylist. That’s all me! I love planning anything and everything.

Let's show your wedding venue some love! What is the name of your venue, and why did you choose it for your special day?

Our venue was Hyalite Recreation Area... all outside!
Tell us about your wedding playlist! What song did you walk down the aisle to? Did you have a first dance song that was meaningful to you?

We didn’t have a playlist! A friend drove up from Arizona to Montana and played “Wildflowers” by Tom Petty as we walked down the aisle. He played by a bonfire all night for us.

What was your favorite moment of the day?

Patrick’s vows... hands down. So emotional. So sweet.

Who was involved in your special day? We would love to shout out your photographer, favorite vendors, and anyone else who made your day magical.

Our photographer was AMAZING. I feel like she is my real life pal now. @JacilynM on IG. I just love Jackie. My dear aunt, also named Emily, booked all of our food vendors. Just a taste and cupcake mountain for lite fare after the ceremony. I picked up some dried flowers from Labellum to add to my bouquet that I made!
Do you have any advice or helpful tips for others planning a wedding?

Go with your gut. At the end of the day this marriage is about you and your partner!

What has been the best part so far about being married?

I spend every day waking up next to my best friend. It’s cheesy but true. Patrick has made every day better than the last.
