So tell us, how did you meet the love of your life?

We actually met at work and bonded over tacos

When did you know they were the one?

We were friends first and became best friends. Eventually we realized that all the deep conversations were leading to something more.

Tell us the story of the proposal!

Rob took me out for a drive down the Columbia River gorge up to the Vista House and proposed at the view point

How long was your engagement? What went into deciding your wedding's date and location?

We got engaged in August of 2019 and got married June 15th 2021. Due to the pandemic, it was a longer engagement than we had planned. When picking a date, we knew we didn’t want to risk snow, but we also wanted to avoid our birthdays. June just fit.

How would you describe your personal style? What was most important to you when you were planning your bridal look?

I would describe it as laid back yet elegant and timeless. It was important to me to have a dress that I was comfortable in, be able to hike around in, play with my dogs in, and yet still have those glamorous photos to frame and hang around our house.

How did you find Wear Your Love?

I found it on Etsy when searching for wedding dresses with sleeves

When did you know you had found your perfect dress?

It’s so hard to find dresses with sleeves! Especially lace and sleeves. I saw the Fleur dress and fell in love with the mermaid fit and the lace pattern.

Which dress did you choose, and did you request any custom aspects?

I got the Fleur dress with the 10 inch train, and an open back and unlined sleeves.

What went through your mind when the Wear Your Love box arrived at your doorstep and you tried on your dress for the first time?

I was so nervous to try it on. The lace was so soft to the touch, and the dress fit perfectly. I had done up my makeup and hair as a practice run, and had champagne while trying it on. I couldn’t believe how perfect it was.

Did your wedding have a theme or style?

Our wedding was a sort of glamorous desert wedding in terms of color scheme and yet also casual, with the ceremony in the backyard. It was very intimate and personal.

How involved was your partner in the wedding planning? Did your families help? Did you hire a coordinator, planner, or event stylist?

I did the majority of the planning. Rob's main input was that as long as it made me happy, he was okay with it. And he definitely didn’t want suspenders or a boutonnière. Our photographer, Lindsay, with Till Death Do We Adventure photography, was also very involved and helpful.

Let's show your wedding venue some love! What is the name of your venue, and why did you choose it for your special day?

We had our actual ceremony in a rental house, and exchanged vows at Smith Rock State Park and did adventure photos there. We chose Smith Rock because we love to be outside and it fit with the color and look we wanted.

Tell us about your wedding playlist! What song did you walk down the aisle to? Did you have a first dance song that was meaningful to you?

We danced briefly at Smith Rock, but had our playlist going all day long at the house. It was full of songs that make us think of each other. We each have a playlist titled “Dana play me” and “Rob play me” and whenever we hear a song that reminds us of each other, we add it to each other’s playlist. Our wedding playlist was a combination of those songs.

What was your favorite moment of the day?

It’s hard to pick just one. I loved our first look, since even though Rob had seen the dress, he hadn’t seen me in it yet. I also loved our adventure photos at Smith Rock, because it was fun and intimate and absolutely beautiful. My absolute favorite part was probably when everyone was in the kitchen making dinner together after the ceremony.

Who was involved in your special day? We would love to shout out your photographer, favorite vendors, and anyone else who made your day magical.

Our photographer Lindsay was absolutely amazing. She’s at @tilldeathdoweadventure. Our florist, Samantha, owns Bloom and Fleur in Portland and was just the sweetest when we picked up our flowers. She is at @bloomandfleur. My sister Hanna was our officiant. My best friend since 2nd grade, Isabelle, and Rob's dear friend Rolando were our witnesses, and my mom joined us as well, along with our dogs Duke and Rhea.

Do you have any advice or helpful tips for others planning a wedding

Make it what you want. Ultimately people won’t remember the details, but you will. We also highly recommend the small intimate wedding! It lets you really enjoy everything and each other.

What has been the best part so far about being married?

Calling each other wife and husband
