Congratulations, Sarah and Travis on their lovely intimate, farm wedding! Photography by Amber Renee Photography.

So tell us, how did you meet the love of your life?

I was visiting my grandfather in Winston-Salem NC, I searched for a local church to attend that week and found Two Cities church. I went alone and Travis sat right in front of me. I knew immediately that I would marry him, but I was too shy to talk to him. I called my best friend after church to tell her about him and she had mentioned Hinge, saying if he was single he would probably be on there. I made an account and found him on there later that evening! I liked his photo and let him take the lead on conversation. We were married 4 months later.

Was there a moment you knew they were the one? Tell us how they won your heart.

I knew the moment I saw him, but on our first date I could see his heart for Jesus and his heart for people and that’s what ultimately won my heart.

Tell us the story of the proposal ❤️

Two months after we started dating we went to Disneyworld with his family (we have 10 nieces and nephews) and he and I went alone on the Skyliner during sunset. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! (We already had our wedding planned by this time, but his grandmother’s ring was being sized so we weren’t “officially” engaged yet). I loved that moment of slowing down during a crazy day and having such a beautiful time to celebrate with just us two.

What dress did you choose?

Jade

What was most important to you when choosing your wedding dress

I am incredibly blessed to wear his grandmother’s beautiful, 80 year old ring and I wanted a dress that was timeless, just like my ring.

What aspects of your wedding were most important to you when you were planning?

The most important thing I wanted was for our wedding to be intimate and family only. I wanted my family and his family to have an entire weekend to bond. Since we were married four months after we met we hadn’t had much time for our families to get to know each other. As far as our vows, we told our pastor that the most important thing was that the ceremony was more about Jesus and less about us.

Did your wedding have a theme or a specific style?

The only thing I really wanted was to be barefoot in the grass under a tree.

What advice do you wish you could go back and give to yourself when you were in the early stages of planning?

Don’t sweat the details! The only thing that truly matters is that at the end of the day you married the love of your life.

Let's show your wedding venue some love! What is the name of your venue, and why did you choose it for your special day?

Summerfield Farms- we chose it because it has a beautiful tree called the “little tree” where they do their ceremonies, and a gorgeous barn for the reception.

What was your favorite moment of the day?

One of my favorite moments was when my husband’s parents came in before the ceremony and prayed over me.

How did you feel spending the day in your wedding dress?

I absolutely loved my dress. It was timeless and beautiful, comfortable and elegant. My husband and my family loved it and said it was “so me”.

What has been the best part so far about being married?

The best part of marriage has been seeking the Lord together, praying together, serving one another, and going on so many new adventures together. Every moment feels so full of purpose and joy. It is truly such a blessing!
