How did you meet the love of your life?
We are High School Sweethearts! We met in our freshman year art class. We sat next to each other in that class as well as a couple of others and became fast friends. Poor Kory was friend-zoned from the start, but that never discouraged him from flirting heavily and letting me know that someday he would win me over. Eventually, he did.
When did you know that this person had stolen your heart?
There wasn't exactly a 'moment' but eventually, I realized that I didn't want to experience life without him in it. We are an amazing team and always make it a point to make our life FUN. He is the most kind hearted, caring, hardworking and hilarious person I've ever known and I'm so grateful to have him in my life!
Tell us about the proposal?
Kory surprised me with the most beautiful and special proposal! To me it was just another Wednesday but little did I know he was busy at home planting flowers all over our back yard and getting things organized for our engagement party that would take place immediately after the proposal. After my 'mandatory work BBQ' (which was orchestrated with my boss to buy extra time) I came home and was met by Kory outside. He told me how much he loved me and all of the reasons he wanted to marry me and then dropped down to one knee. After that, he lead me to our back yard where about 25 of our closes friends and family members were waiting for us! Such a perfect day!
How did you come across Wear Your Love?
I found Wear Your Love on Pinterest which lead me to their website! I was immediately blown away by all of the unique and different designs that they had to offer, not to mention the affordable prices. I had been to quite a few of the big bridal salons and wasn't able to find anything that I liked that was less than $5,000!
When did you know you had found your perfect dress?
I had been looking for something form-fitting with long sleeves and an open back... Julie was PERFECT! As soon as I saw it, it was love at first sight!
What went through your mind when the Wear Your Love box arrived at your doorstep, and you pulled out your dress for the first time?
I actually got my dress delivered on Christmas Eve which made perfect sense because it was the PERFECT gift to myself! I slipped my dress on right away and couldn't have been happier.
What was your wedding theme or style?
It was industrial chic with lots of desert inspiration!
Let's show your wedding venue some love! What is the name of the wedding venue you chose and why did you choose them for your special day?
We had our wedding at Jacobsen Salt Company in Portland, OR! I, again, wanted something different than I had ever seen before and since we were having our wedding in May, we needed something that was indoors. I love the exposed rafters in the venue as well as all of the white brick. So beautiful!
What was on your wedding soundtrack playlist, aisle, reception, and first dance?
I walked down the aisle to a song by a band of brothers that Kory and I went to High School with which was kind of special! That song was 'Always Be Loving You' by My Brothers and I. Our first dance song was 'Dark Side of the Moon' by Chris Staples. Lots of indie chill vibes!
Tell us your favorite moment from your wedding?
We loved just taking a moment to step back and see all of our favorite people talking to one another and enjoying the party we had been planning for nearly a year! We also loved the speeches and hearing everything people had to say about us as a couple.

Enjoy it! It goes so so fast and you only get to experience this once. Soak in every ounce of joy and excitement.
