So tell us, how did you meet the love of your life?

We met at work. We both worked for a local newspaper - he was in Editorial and I was in Advertising

When did you know they were the one?

I couldn't imagine sharing my life with anyone else.

Tell us the story of the proposal!

We were actually in Portland, OR for the new year weekend celebration. We were hiking around Mutnomah Falls and right by the waterfalls, Andrew asked me to marry him. He also hired a photographer to capture the proposal as it happened. It was all very romantic, picturesque and as perfect as can be.

How long was your engagement? What went into deciding your wedding's date and location?

We were engaged for 1 year and 10 months. We chose our wedding date because it's exactly 5 years later since our first official date.

How would you describe your personal style?  What was most important to you when you were planning your bridal look?

I have more of a laid-back style in terms of clothing and accessories. I really wanted to make sure that my bridal look was more relaxed than what I've seen in the past.

How did you find Wear Your Love?

I found Wear Your Love through their Etsy page actually. They had the best selection of dresses that I've ever seen and for a quarter of the cost of other wedding dresses. Their designs really matched my style perfectly. I kept reading positive reviews so I decided to reach out.

When did you know you had found your perfect dress?

Wear Your Love had a lot of nice selection of dresses to choose from, but the Nevaeh dress looked like the best fit for me.

Which dress did you choose, and did you request any custom aspects?

I chose the Nevaeh dress, with a slightly higher v-back opening that the ready-made version. It had the nude lining, slight flare wrist and an 8-inch sweep train.

What went through your mind when the Wear Your Love box arrived at your doorstep and you tried on your dress for the first time?

Super excited seeing the box when it first arrived! I was also impressed with how quickly the whole process was, especially considering it was during the pandemic. I ordered the dress on April 25th 2020 and received it on August 3rd 2020

Did your wedding have a theme or style?

Our theme was romantic bohemian.

How involved was your partner in the wedding planning? Did your families help? Did you hire a coordinator, planner, or event stylist?

We were both involved in the wedding planning. We didn't hire an event planner or coordinator, it was just the two of us working together.

Let's show your wedding venue some love! What is the name of your venue, and why did you choose it for your special day?

Oh my goodness, our wedding venue was so beautiful! Where we got married was actually not our original venue. In a very unfortunate turn of events, our original venue cancelled on us the night before our scheduled rehearsal (2 days before the actual wedding was to take place). They said they couldn't hold the event due to the pandemic, despite our diligent efforts to safely have it with our 40-guest count, including vendors (testing, masks, social distancing, no dancing besides special first dances, no photobooth, no garter toss, etc.) Thankfully, our friend - also our wedding photographer - offered to have our wedding at her wedding venue (they weren't operating because the Bobcat fire in SoCal had destroyed the surrounding areas, narrowly missing their land completely). We wanted to still keep our original wedding date, so we all pulled together to clean the venue in 2 days time. Thankfully, we were able to keep all of our original vendors with no pushback from any of them. We made sure to notify our guests about the new venue location (about 40 minutes away from the original venue). With everything considered, the wedding took place without a single hitch after that.

Tell us about your wedding playlist! What song did you walk down the aisle to? Did you have a first dance song that was meaningful to you?

My husband and I created our music playlist weeks in advanced. We were going for a timeless curation of songs. *Wedding Party Processional: "Horizons" by Genesis *Bridal Processional: "Can't Help Falling In Love" by Kina Grannis *Bride & Groom Recessional: "You are the Best Thing" By Ray LaMontagne *Bride & Groom Entrance: "Happy Together" by The Turtles *Bride & Groom First Dance: "How Much Light" by Ryan Adams *Father/Daughter Dance: "You'll be in my Heart" by Phil Collins *Mother/Son Dance: "Forever Young" by Bob Dylan *Surprise Grandparents Dance: "Unforgettable" by Nat King Cole *Cake Cutting Song: "Sugar, Sugar" by The Archies

What was your favorite moment of the day?

That we were able to see our families after being apart for so long. The wedding was the first time we were all able to see each other since LA County initiated the stay-at-home order. It was really wonderful that we were able to have our wedding, safely and as close to how we've always wanted it despite the obstacles we had to go through.

Who was involved in your special day? We would love to shout out your photographer, favorite vendors, and anyone else who made your day magical.

Do you have any advice or helpful tips for others planning a wedding?

Best advice to future couples getting married: lean on each other throughout the process and make decisions together. There's this toxic idea that only brides and her family/friends should plan a wedding. I think it's best when you and your chosen life partner approach the wedding planning as teammates. As long as you have each other throughout the process, the rest will follow along seamlessly.

What has been the best part so far about being married?

Being married to my best friend.
