So tell us, how did you meet the love of your life?

I was unknowingly set up on a blind date/meet by a mutual friend at a local bar arcade. When we first met, I thought he was my friend's new boyfriend and complimented him on dating someone so handsome and with such a unique name. I had no idea he was actually there to meet me!

When did you know they were the one?

We are both fitness fanatics and workout 5-6 days/week. Our first date was a gym session followed by In-N-Out Burger (a California staple) and a few day drinks at a local bar. I spent the whole day with him which I had never done on a date before - I knew he was special from that moment on.

Tell us the story of the proposal!

Family is so important to us so Bosué wanted to make sure that as many family members were there for his proposal as possible. He surprised me at Thanksgiving dinner in 2019 and proposed in the company of almost 50 close family members. It was so romantic and I was so surprised, I forgot to say yes!

How long was your engagement? What went into deciding your wedding's date and location?

Our engagement was a year and a half long. We had planned a destination wedding in Tulum, MX initially but changed our minds and kept it local in California to permit more family and friends to attend. COVID hit in the middle of our planning but thankfully, we were able to tour and choose a venue in mid-2020 that was perfect for us.

How would you describe your personal style? What was most important to you when you were planning your bridal look?

My personal style is very simple chic; timeless and elegant. When planning my bridal look, I knew that I wanted something that was stunning in its simplicity and unique. Nothing off the rack or overdone.

How did you find Wear Your Love?

Before I met my husband, I used to search wedding dresses for fun to try to get an idea of the style I would eventually be looking for. It was always exciting to imagine future me as a bride and when I came across Wear Your Love, it was love at first sight. I loved the style shoots, the dresses and the fact that each dress is made uniquely for you.

When did you know you had found your perfect dress?

The minute I saw the Zoey dress, I immediately bookmarked the page because I knew in my heart that was my dress. It had the classic elegance I craved with a bohemian twist that really just spoke to my soul. It was perfect.

Which dress did you choose, and did you request any custom aspects?

I chose the Zoey 2.0 dress with natural lining, a court length train and a vegan chiffon skirt.

What went through your mind when the Wear Your Love box arrived at your doorstep and you tried on your dress for the first time?

I cried! When I tried the dress on, everything became real and I realized that this was it: this is the dress I will become a wife in. I didn't even want to breathe on it, it was so gorgeous! Perfection in every way.

Did your wedding have a theme or style?

We chose to make our wedding a black-tie, semi-formal affair. Our color palette was a mix of black, maroon, silver and blush and we incorporated details like a live mariachi band and nods to Dia De Los Muertos to celebrate our Mexican culture and heritage.

How involved was your partner in the wedding planning? Did your families help? Did you hire a coordinator, planner, or event stylist?

My mother-in-law takes all of the credit here! She is an extremely talented and successful business woman and is an event planner and decorator by trade. We gave her our color choices and a general idea of what we wanted this event to look like and she worked her incredible magic to make it elegant and chic beyond our wildest dreams.

Let's show your wedding venue some love! What is the name of your venue, and why did you choose it for your special day?

We were married at Grand Island Mansion in Walnut Grove, CA. We only toured 2 venues, this being our first stop, and we didn't even need to see the second one - the minute we set foot on the property, we knew it was the place for us. The mansion sits next to the Sacramento River, was built in 1920 and was designed as an Italian Renaissance Villa with lush greenery and beautiful historic elements throughout.

Tell us about your wedding playlist! What song did you walk down the aisle to? Did you have a first dance song that was meaningful to you

Music is so important to me so of course I had a song chosen for every occasion. Nothing traditional for this bride, I chose to walk down the aisle to "Wild Horses" by The Rolling Stones and our first dance was to "Wild" by John Legend. Musical highlights for me included throwing my bouquet to "Let's Go Crazy" by Prince and making our grand entrance to "Mesa Que Mas Aplauda" by Grupo Climax, another nod to our Mexican culture.

What was your favorite moment of the day?

My husband and I really are best friends with ALOT of inside jokes, movie quotes, etc. After we said "I do", we clasped hands together and replicated the arm wrestling scene in Predator between Arnold Schwarzenegger and Carl Weathers. It was so us and we needed that one intimate moment to remind ourselves that, despite all the wedding chaos, this was our special day.

Who was involved in your special day? We would love to shout out your photographer, favorite vendors, and anyone else who made your day magical.

Do you have any advice or helpful tips for others planning a wedding?

Definitely hire a wedding coordinator to help the day run as smooth as possible! Have scheduled time slots for hair and makeup for the bridal party and last but not least, wedding amnesia is real! Try to stop with your spouse for a moment to take it all in together. And hire a good photographer and videographer to remind you of the parts you miss!

What has been the best part so far about being married?

Not having a wedding to plan anymore...just kidding! The best part about being married is knowing that you have found someone on this earth that loves you more than themselves and vice versa. You're now this unstoppable team committed to loving and respecting one another for the rest of your lives together.
