So tell us, how did you meet the love of your life?

We’re actually childhood friends! I’m not exactly sure when we met but Isaac has always sort of been around. Our families would occasionally spend holidays together and and we went to the same church so we kind of grew up together. We had some mutual friends who tried to convince us to date because of how similar our personalities are (both introverted and pretty easy going). Eventually Isaac asked me out and the rest is history!

When did you know they were the one?

Our 1 year dating anniversary. We were on our way to the beach and I was just reflecting on the past year and I realized how easy it was to be in a relationship with Isaac. There are not very many people in the world who are as genuine and kind as he is. He’s always supported and encouraged my goals and not once made me feel lesser of myself. I knew I never cared more deeply for another human and it was becoming more and more difficult to picture a life that didn’t include him. We dated for a couple more years and started to talk about our future together and it just made sense.

Tell us the story of the proposal!

Isaac planned a little half day trip and told me to make sure I had that day off, which I thought was kind of suspicious because our day trips are almost always spontaneous. ( I may or may not have had an inkling and threw some nail polish in my purse before we left, just in case). We ended up going to Filoli Gardens in Half Moon Bay which is a beautiful old estate with its own micro climate that had the ability to sustain these unique, lush gardens year round. We had always wanted to go to check it out so this seamed like a good time. We had been taking pictures together he whole time while we were there and then decided to get lunch at the cute little cafe. After eating, Isaac wanted to do one more walk through before we left. We found a bench to sit on and set up the camera for one last picture except this time, he got on one knee, pulled out a little box with the most gorgeous ring I had ever seen, and after his spiel about how much he loved me, he asked me to marry him! We both teared up and obviously I said yes!

How long was your engagement? What went into deciding your wedding's date and location?

We got engaged in November of 2019 and our wedding was in October 2020. I knew I wanted a fall wedding and for it to be outside so that was the main factor in waiting a year. We ended up securing a beautiful private venue that was at the home of an acquaintance. They were very gracious to let us use their property for our wedding even during the pandemic.

How would you describe your personal style?  What was most important to you when you were planning your bridal look?

I love neutral tones and beautiful yet simple, timeless pieces and wanted my look to reflect that, from my makeup to my jewelry, to my dress.

How did you find Wear Your Love?

I saw the dress on Pinterest and immediately found the wear your love Instagram.

When did you know you had found your perfect dress?

As soon as I saw the dress, I knew it was exactly what I wanted. I kept comparing every other dress I found to The Ari dress and came back to it every time.

Which dress did you choose, and did you request any custom aspects?

I choose the Ari dress with long sleeves, nude lining, and full train.

What went through your mind when the Wear Your Love box arrived at your doorstep and you tried on your dress for the first time?

I was SO excited! Finally being able to open that box to see the dress of my dreams finally here was so surreal! I will never forget that day ❤️

Did your wedding have a theme or style?

I was going for a vintage/boho ish style because that was the closest theme I could envision for our day and was easy to communicate to people.

How involved was your partner in the wedding planning? Did your families help? Did you hire a coordinator, planner, or event stylist?

Isaac wanted to be as involved as he could. If I wasn’t sure about a decision, he was always willing to give input if I needed it. He chose his suit and what the groomsmen wore as well. Both my parents are very experienced in wedding planning and were very involved in the process. My mom saw my vision and knew exactly what i wanted and made it happen! I did want my mom to enjoy our wedding and so we had a family friend coordinate on the actual day. My dad actually did all of the floral for our wedding including our centerpieces, bouquets and boutonnières and our arch!

Let's show your wedding venue some love! What is the name of your venue, and why did you choose it for your special day?

I loved our venue! It was a private backyard and the autumn colors were just what I wanted. The cost was very low so that was a big motivator too!

Tell us about your wedding playlist! What song did you walk down the aisle to? Did you have a first dance song that was meaningful to you?

Our entire playlist was romantic jazz. The song I walked down the aisle to was “stand by me” by Ben E. King and our first dance song was “Coming Home” by Leon Bridges which is my favorite song.

What was your favorite moment of the day?

Definitely our first look. All of the nerves I had completely melted away as soon as I got to see Isaac before the ceremony.

Who was involved in your special day? We would love to shout out your photographer, favorite vendors, and anyone else who made your day magical.

Our amazing photographer was @leahgallowayphoto My makeup artist was @makeupby_margot

Do you have any advice or helpful tips for others planning a wedding?

A longer engagement made for a way less stressful wedding planning! Also do what you want for your day despite what’s “traditional”. It was so fun to plan a celebration that reflected who we are as a couple and to express that to our close friends and family who attended.

What has been the best part so far about being married?

Getting to go through life with my best friend! I love being able to include my husband in so many new areas of my life. It’s the best!
