So tell us, how did you meet the love of your life?

Well I could try and sugar coat it but we met on a dating site. We did know who each other were from mutual friends long before this.

When did you know they were the one?

It didn’t take me long to know that he was the one for me. He was everything I never had in any other relationship. He accepted every part of me the good and the bad.

Tell us the story of the proposal!

We had a long weekend away with my family in this beautiful house on the ocean. There was a pathway down to the water, and when the tide was out he asked my niece and I to go for a walk and look for sea glass. The views were breath taking and we all climbed on to one of the rocks. He then asked my niece to take our photo - I was completely in shock when he got down on one knee and asked if I would marry him. Also in shock of the amazing photo my 9 year old niece got of the moment it happened, she was over the moon happy to have been involved in her Auntie getting engaged.

How long was your engagement? What went into deciding your wedding's date and location?

We got engaged on September 7th 2020 and I didn’t want to waste anytime so we set our wedding date for 5 1/2 months later! I was planing a winter wedding so we went and looked at all kinds of indoor spaces before deciding on a hotel in our little up town area.

How would you describe your personal style? What was most important to you when you were planning your bridal look?

Long before we were engaged I starting planing our wedding, I knew I wanted something beautiful/simple, elegant/timeless. The most important things to me were lace and sleeves!

How did you find Wear Your Love?

When I was deep into my wedding planing (before I was even engaged 😂) I was making my dream day board on Pinterest and came across a pin that brought me to the most perfect website - the wear your love website.

When did you know you had found your perfect dress?

Once the engagement was official I was so excited to try on wedding dresses, I went to all the spots within a 3 hour drive from my home, and tried on so many beautiful dresses, but this dress I found on the Wear Your Love website was always on my mind no matter how beautiful the dress. After leaving the last dress shop I knew that I was going with my gut and ordering this beautiful dress online. I met my husband online so finding the most perfect dress online just seemed fitting.

Which dress did you choose, and did you request any custom aspects?

I chose the Cleo dress with the nude underlay and the 24-inch train.

What went through your mind when the Wear Your Love box arrived at your doorstep and you tried on your dress for the first time?

Everything went through my mind when my dress finally came in, the most excitement and still a little terrified. When I tried on my Cleo dress for the first time, I was instantly in love, and so ready to marry the love of my life!

Did your wedding have a theme or style?

The theme was classic elegance.

How involved was your partner in the wedding planning? Did your families help? Did you hire a coordinator, planner, or event stylist?

My fiancé was involved somewhat, to the extent that I would show him what I would love and he would approve. I did have the most amazing help from both of our families and my girl friends. We were the coordinators, planners, and stylists.

Let's show your wedding venue some love! What is the name of your venue, and why did you choose it for your special day?

We had our ceremony at The Delta (Saint John, New Brunswick) and due to COVID our reception was changed the week before our wedding to the most beautiful restaurant in the uptown Saint John area Gahan House. It was everything I could have dreamed of.

Tell us about your wedding playlist! What song did you walk down the aisle to? Did you have a first dance song that was meaningful to you?

I still listen to my wedding ceremony play list all the time it gives me all the most amazing feels!

I walked down the aisle to:
Can’t help falling in love - Kina Grannis
Signed papers to:
How long will I love you - Ellie Goulding
Marry me - Train
Our first dance as Mr & Mrs to:
Joy of my life - Chris Stapleton

What was your favorite moment of the day?

All of it! But if I had to pick just one it would be standing holding my husband's hands, reading him my vows, and hearing the words he vowed to me in front of the people that meant the most to us.

Who was involved in your special day? We would love to shout out your photographer, favorite vendors, and anyone else who made your day magical.

My photographer is the best in the entire world not only for her AMAZING photos, but she had the biggest heart and personality, completely fit into our day perfectly, and made everything effortless! Sharlie Fay @sharliefay

Also the most amazing restaurant (Gahan House Port City) that completely pulled through for us in the final hours. They went above and beyond while keeping up with all the safety protocols during this pandemic. Gahan House port city @gahan.saintjohn

Do you have any advice or helpful tips for others planning a wedding?

Let it all go, all that is important is that you are making a life commitment to your partner. It’s your day, if people are negative get rid of them!

What has been the best part so far about being married?

Getting to call him my husband ♥️
