How did you meet the love of your life?

We met online! I (Britt) had only had a profile for about 8 hours before I realized it was not the way I wanted to meet someone... however, when I went to deactivate my account, I had received a message from Liam. He introduced himself so politely and came across warm, intelligent and kind. So i messaged him back! Four days later, we had an impromptu first date, three days after that a formal dinner date and neither of us ever looked back. The connection was instantaneous. It felt and still feels like a dream. Meeting him was the best thing that has ever happened to me.

When did you know that this person had stolen your heart?

There simply wasn’t one moment, he stole my heart because of who he is.

Tell us about the proposal?

These moments are ever so intimate and personal. We drove out to the stunning Redwood Forest (Warburton, Victoria, Australia) to connect with nature and enjoy some nature photography. After an hour or so, we were down by the riverside, and I turned to Liam and he was down on one knee with the most perfect ring. I knelt down in front of him, said yes and we could not stop hugging and kissing each other. Such an emotionally overwhelming moment!

Explain to us how you found Wear Your Love?

I initially found Wear Your Love on Etsy, when I was looking for non-traditional wedding dress inspiration. After that, I watched Instagram for people’s tagged photo’s (to see real brides) and Wear Your Love website for style and color options!

When did you know you had found your perfect dress?

When I saw the range of women that chose to wear your dresses and how flattering the material and fit of the dresses were. This was confirmed when the swatches arrived! :)

What went through your mind when the Wear Your Love box arrived at your doorstep, and you pulled out your dress for the first time?

How delicate the lace was, how comfy the material felt and how certain I was that I had made the right decision by choosing Wear Your Love!

What was your wedding theme or style?

The two of us “eloped” in Copenhagen, Denmark. Our friends and family knew, but we felt the day was just for us! So that meant we got ready for the wedding in our beautiful Airbnb and then walked five minutes to the Copenhagen City Hall! As it was winter, our styling was for cold temperatures.. bringing in colors of navy and ivory. Flowers were warm pinks. I love proteas! :)

Let's show your wedding venue some love! What is the name of the wedding venue you chose and why did you choose them for your special day?

Copenhagen City Hall! We had half our photo’s in the city of Copenhagen and the other half in Jægersborg Dyrehave. Dinner at Kokkeriet (Kronprinsessegade 64, Kobenhavn): a Michelin Star restaurant that gave us the most spectacular experience. We chose this restaurant due to the warm and exciting communication that I had with the owner in preparing for the wedding! Sammy Shafi (owner) was incredible. All the staff had signed a card wishing us a wonderful marriage and all came out (even the chef’s!) at the end of the meal to say goodbye (I was still in my Wear Your Love wedding dress and Liam was in his wedding attire). It was perfect.

What was on your wedding soundtrack playlist, aisle, reception, and first dance?

We only had music whilst getting ready! We had: - Run the Jewels and Childish Gambino. Resulted in us (Liam, our photographer, my make-up artist and I) all dancing around the apartment!

Tell us your favorite moment from your wedding?

There wasn’t one moment, the whole day was like a fairytale. However, I loved the walk to the city hall.. feeling this feeling of excitement and utter calm knowing that I was about to marry the man I love.

Do you have any advice or words of wisdom for anyone planning a wedding?

Remember that marriage is about each other, not everyone else (no matter what style of wedding you choose!). Every moment of our wedding day was about us because decided that we did not want anyone to distract us from the beauty of our commitment to one another.  Choose vendors that you have a connection with. This may tell you that the styling, personality etc meets your needs/align with you as a person. Eloping to another country (we are from Melbourne, Australia) meant that all vendors had to be chosen through email communication. I think that by choosing those that were open, warm and receptive, on the actual wedding day, I trusted them. This reduced any worries regarding logistics that may have otherwise crept in :)
