Chris & Melissa
Chris and I worked at an English pub downtown together for just over two years. When we finally went on a date and kissed for the first time that night we became inseparable. I had finally found the person I was meant to kiss for the rest of my days. A year went by, and we found out we were pregnant and had our son. We often look back at the time of us working together and the harmless flirting that persisted to this new foundation of love, honesty, and laughter we have formed
The moment he kissed me on our first date.
I was eight months pregnant in July, and Chris took me camping in the mountains in Jasper, AB. He took me to Lake Maligne, and we sat on the rocks watching the water. He walked away for a minute, and I saw him go into his backpack. He came up behind me and gave me the box with the most beautiful ring I have ever seen. He didn't need to say anything because my answer has always been yes.
I ordered a swatch for the Zoey 2.0 dress. When I received it only after a few days, I knew this fabric was legit! The stretchiness and comfortability was exactly what I was looking for.
I was soooo nervous! When I put it on, I bawled my eyes out, of course. It was perfect.
Fall themed, with pops of burgundy.
We got married outside at Quarry Lake Park in Canmore, Alberta. The Three Sister Mountains were behind us.
I walked down the aisle to the Elvis cover by Haley Klinkhammer: Can't Help falling in love with you Vance Joy: Your Mess is Mine And we didn't have a reception, we simply went to a pub after!
Fro-locking in the mountains with our photographer and videographer following us around!
GET A PLANNER! It was so stress free, not having to worry about a thing!
5 out of 5 stars
Congratulations Chris & Melissa!
Wishing you the best today and always.
How did you come across Wear Your Love?
Pinterest! Years before Dylan and I were even engaged. I had pinned the Ellora dress and it had stolen my heart from the beginning. After getting engaged I spent months trying on gowns, enduring the uncomfortable moments of trying on dresses that everyone else wanted me to try on. I just couldn’t shake the Ellora from my mind, and I knew I had to have it.
When did you know that this person had stolen your heart?
The very first time we spoke. I can honestly say I knew I would marry him from the moment I met him. His soul spoke to mine.
Tell us about the proposal ...
Both of us could tell this was a once in a lifetime love. But I knew Ben would put too much pressure on the perfection of something like a proposal. So after a quick check with his friends and family, and most importantly with my girls, I decided to propose to him! I got a special t-shirt made, and wrote my proposal on a softball. Just before the start of his Friday night game Ben's brother and the umpire helped get Ben over to home plate so we could scoot out to the pitcher's mound and pitch him the ball. I am an incredibly shy person for speaking in front of crowds, so I was really nervous... but it was (almost) perfect, and he said yes! I had gotten his whole family there, including a few that never attend his games, so I am pretty sure he knew something was up. I do know he was still surprised though, not a lot of guys get their own special proposal!
